No one believed that horrible fact. The moments of his funereal were very emotional and touching. He was buried in Hogwarts. This part of the story has been criticised by many readers and audience as they said that this should not have happened in the story, as Dumbledore was one of the major and the most principal role of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince.

His death made their interests less towards the other advent part. Whereas, some said that was very attractive and attentiveness grasping climax of J.K Rowling to have Dumbledore died in the end. A Mythological and Archetypal approach to "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" by Jk Rowling

The first installment in the series of Harry Potter books, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, can be analyzed through the discrete archetypes and myths present in the novel.

To begin with, let us look into the so-called heroic quest of Harry. As the story unfolds, Harry goes through the classic and mythic stages of a hero's journey. First to these is a call to adventure. In the story, Harry receives the letters from Hogwarts. Second is a divorce from the known world. This is seen in the part where Harry leaves for Hogwarts. Third is an initiation into the new world. This is clear in the Sorting ceremony, where Harry undergoes a placement-like ritual through the Sorting Hat. Next is the nearnessy of threats which can be observed in Harry's rivalry with Malfoy and also his encounter with the Mirror of Erised - both of which tried Harry's character and desires. Other is the existence of a fellowship which can be justified by the characters of Ron and Hermione. The advice of a mentor, through Hagrid and Dumbledore, the final confrontation with darkness - Harry versus Voldemort over the stone - Afterwhich, comes a rebirth or resurrection through Harry's victory over Voldemort and finally, the hero's return to the old world - Harry returns to his home, but this time he knows who he no ifs ands or buts is.

The Sorcerer's stone or what is also known as the Philosopher's stone is a former element from mythology that appears in Rowling's work. In the story, the stone was created by Nicolas Falmal, Dumbledore's partner, whose character is no ifs ands or buts based on the history and legends surrounding thr real French alchemist Nicolas Flamel. The stone, both in the novel and in the field of alchemy, is described as a small red ball that can turn metal into gold and can also originate an elixir that can grant eternal life.

The character of Lord Voldemort clearly illustrates the power of fear throughout the novel. In fact, most wizards, except Dumbledore, dare not refer to him by name. Instead, he is referred to as, 'He Who must Not Be Named'. In this manner, Voldemort is taken as a metaphor for fear, which is a coarse element of mankind.

Most of the names of the characters in the novel have relevant meanings. One example is Headmaster Albus Dumbledore. His first name is derived from the Latin word alba which means 'white'. His last name is old English for 'bumblebee'. In symbolism, white stands fro purity, so the headmaster's name suggests honor and a hard-working nature. Other example is Professor Severus Snape. Severus is the Latin word fro 'severe' and 'strict' - adjectives that can truly be connected to the professor's character.

In Harry Potter, there are four Hogwarts houses. Gryffindor is the Hogwarts house to which Harry and his friends belong. Gryffindor is derived from Griffin, which means a fierce, legendary beast with the body of a lion and the head and wings of an eagle. And that is why this Hogwarts house uses a lion as its symbol. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1

After discovering that Harry Potter was leaving the care free adventure style of its former games and abandoning Hogwarts to the dark, hazardous compelling world, I believed it was an suitable move to make for the more adult audience. Reading the book, I had hoped it would turn to that and Ea and Brightlight have achieved that. It is perfectly understandable for Harry Potter to take a turn which has made the game more compelling and entertaining to play.

To catch gamers, readers, movie goers up to speed, The Deathly Hallows follows Harry's decision to abandon his instruction after Dumbledore's death and Lord Voldemort's second rise to power. The Chosen One and his friends Ron and Hermione embark on a more hazardous quest than learning for their N.E.W.T.s - finding for Voldemort's remaining Horcruxes. A Horcrux is an object used to store a piece of someone's soul to attain immortality, and Voldemort created some of them which need to be destroyed before he can be killed.

With Voldermort and the Death Eaters taking over, neither the wizarding nor Muggle is safe for Harry, Ron and Hermione. The game generally shifts between first-person stealth sequences with Harry's Cloak of Invisibility and third-person shooting, but neither of them is particularly fun. Harry levels up and learns numerous spells like Confringo (causes heavy explosions) and Petrificus Totalus (the body-binding spell), but it's fairly easy to stick with the weak-but-quick Stupefy. The spells are sort of categorised into weapons with Stupefy being the suitable pistol shot whereas Confundo is your sniper shot.

Although you have spells, Harry's armory isn't restricted to spells - he can also throw potions like Garroting Gas (to make foes gag), though if he's behind cover he'll commonly toss it at his feet instead of at his enemies. Death Eaters and Snatchers drop these potions randomly, and while you can pick up nasty ones to use in battle, all health or boost potions like Strengthening or Felix Felicis (the good luck potion) must be consumed immediately. This isn't commonly a big problem, but it can get certainly annoying when you're surrounded by Death Eaters and all you can do is pray that one of them will drop a health potion.

Toward the end of the game you will certainly just trip from one end of a level, watch a cutscene, then head back to where you started, fighting some aggregate of Snatchers, Acromantula, Doxies, Dementors, and Death Eaters as you flee.

The make of the game has changed throughout the years. It has become more realistic and made it more pleasing to watch whenever a cutscene occurs. Few actors from the movie itself made an appearance voice wise such as Rupert Grint as Ron Weasley, James and Oliver Phelps as Fred and Geroge Weasley, Tom Felton as Draco Malfoy and many more! It certainly got me wanting the game.

For those who have a Wii or Xbox 360, you're in luck! Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 is Kinect compatible which, after a few goes with my 8 year old cousin, is a very vigorous play which can be enjoyed by children even under the age of the game. (not that I propose it)

In short, I find this to be a game that can be enjoyed solo and with the family. If this was to be given a number I would put it in this:

Presentation- 8/10 - The lack of user interface brings the attentiveness back into the game but can make it more difficult and confusing to form out how to make your mind up and use potions.

Graphics- 9.5/10 - The graphics have evolved over time and they certainly captured the characters extremely well and made it look fantastic!

Sound- 7/10 - Expect a lot of voice based spells with population yelling Stupefy over and over. The voices push past that and make it all great though.

Gameplay- 8.5/10 - Although the over-the-shoulder view is annoying and makes it difficult to shoot spells, it moves over with the spells and plot.

Overall- 9/10 - A good game to play and get some achievements and to share some fun time with the family.

Since the release of the movie has delayed from November 2008 to July 2009, its sale is predicted to be even more, as the fans are now desperate to get hold on the movie. Different marketing strategies have been used for the promotion of this upcoming film. A video game sound track has too been released for the movie.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire - spicy Dream Images

The first three installments of the Harry Potter series have shown us flashbacks, hallucinations, magic mirrors, time travel, and other altered states of consciousness as Harry drifts in and out of reality. Haunted by ghosts of his past, a demonic wizard hell-bent on destroying him, and soul-sucking dementors who want to tap into his misery, Harry's state of mind is a constant concern for his friends and adopted house at Hogwart's School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. In "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire," however, for the first time we are invited into Harry's tortured dreams as he enters his fourth year at the school.

Director Mike Newell includes three dream sequences taken from the book by J.K. Rowling. Although all the dreams take place in the same location with the same characters and have the same theme (i.e., let's kill Harry Potter), their presentations differ greatly and therefore yield dissimilar emotions in the viewer.

Harry Potter

The first dream sequence begins the movie. We see an old caretaker notice a light in an abandoned house that he's watching. He angrily marches over to the house expecting to find some unruly teenagers. Instead he finds Lord Voldemort, Wormtail, and an additional one mysterious man talking about the greatest demise of Harry. A huge snake slithers by the caretaker as he listens exterior the door. Suddenly his proximity becomes known and as the caretaker is attacked, Harry awakens in a terrified state from the dream.

Unlike dream sequences that use black and white or distorted color, garbled sound, and illogical images to indicate an altered state of consciousness or specifically a dream, this first dream sequence has no optic or aural cues. The dream occurs in real-time; we feel what Harry feels and we assume that it's in effect happening. Until we see Harry awaken, we believe (and are supposed to believe) that the scene is in effect taking place. This director's trick (and in this case also the author's trick) hooks us immediately into the action, and then shocks us by revealing that it was all just a dream.

The second dream sequence happens in real-time also. We know it's a dream, however, because we see Harry sleeping fitfully in bed before it starts. Throughout the sequence, we see scenes of Harry sleeping. The dream is similar to before, but we learn a little more this time. Because it's not a surprise, this dream looks like a typical movie dream with slow motion, blurring, and an unreal quality. Harry awakens in a frightened sweat again. We don't feel quite as threatened this time because we're led to believe that Harry suffers from recurring nightmares (and with his troubled past who could blame him?)

The third time we see Harry's dream is through a flashback as he recalls the dream out loud in Albus Dumbledore's office. We're still confused about the relevance of these dreams. Because the dream is not happening in real-time, but is a brief flashback - a mere memory of what Harry thought he dreamed, the dream's point may be lessened. After recounting the dream, he asks Dumbledore if the dreams could possibly be something other than random and meaningless. Could they be telepathic scenes currently taking place or possibly prophetic dreams that predict Harry's future? The final thirty minutes of the film sass this question.

The presume why filmmakers (and authors) use dream sequences is to growth audience involvement and connectedness to the character. Getting inside of Harry's head allows us to feel his bad dream and share his sense of dread.

If you enjoyed the Harry Potter books and movies, you will absolutely enjoy the Harry Potter Tour. At the author's request, the movies were filmed entirely in Britain. The filming was done at varied locations in London, Gloucester and Oxford.

There are many tours available that range from 3 hours to a few days. Many of the tours include other beloved historical Uk sights. These do not necessarily appear in the movies, but you may as well see them while you are in the area.

Harry Potter

The London leg of the tour will include a visit to King's Cross station. This is where scenes for platform nine and three quarter were filmed. You will be able to see the actual platform where Harry and Voldermort encountered each other. You could have a photo shoot at the trolley which disappeared into the wall. This has precisely been installed into the relevant wall.

You can also view the clock tower that Harry and Ron approximately crashed into when they tried to fly the Ford Anglia to Hogwarts. Westminster Tube middle point was the area that was used for the Ministry of Magic in The Order of the Phoenix. You can also view one of the red telephone boxes that Mr. Weasley and Harry used to descend into the Ministry.

The Cathedral of Gloucester was used for quite a few scenes. This construction is more than 1300 years old. It was used for the ghost scenes as well as for the scenes featuring Moaning Myrtle. This is the site where the red writing in Hogwarts corridors was filmed. Scenes from the sixth movie were filmed at this cathedral.

Some of the classroom scenes were filmed at Lacock Abbey and this site can be included as an extra. Please note that some of the film locations are actual University colleges and are sometimes finished to the public. If this happens at short notice, your tour guide will do their best to reschedule your tour.
