What Harry Potter Can Teach You About belief

Fear is something we can't get rid of. In this oftentimes harsh and nasty world full of uncertainties, it is only natural that we fear something, especially failure. However, the sad truth is that because we worry too much about failing, we speedily turn our backs to our goals. Oftentimes, we select the smoother and safer road and sacrifice our dreams rather than select the more difficult and rougher path that will lead us to our dreams.

However, though, as cliché as it may sounds, if we want to corollary in life, we have to face our fears, especially our fear of failure.

Harry Potter

I remember a conversation between Harry Potter and Professor Albus Dumbledore (of the J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter series). Professor Dumbledore, feeling the growing power of the Dark Lord Voldemort, said to Harry, "The time has come, Harry, in which you have to select between what is easy and what is right." Harry knows that, someday soon, he will have to face the darkest wizard of all. Now, he can unmistakably have chosen to walk down the safer path and just sit down at school and waited for their doomsday.

But, as heroic as he is, he chose to lay down his life and face all of wizardom's many fear, even though as being only a juvenile wizard who has not even accomplished school, he seems to have not any occasion in winning against the Dark Lord. He didn't know if he will corollary or fail, but no matter the consequences, he still faced fear in the eyes. He got bruised, detained, and was almost expelled from school, but this did not deter him from reaching his goal.

He fell down more than a hundred times but every time he did, he only rose up again. He sacrificed his own security and security because he wanted to perform their goal: to destroy Lord Voldemort once and for all.

Now, not all of us have to face what Harry Potter had to face, but we are all the time confronted with choices where we have to select between doing the easier thing and doing the right thing.

But, always, our dreams are all the time at the other end of the harder path. So if we want to perform our dreams, we have to walk down straight through this rough path.

Every once in a while we will for sure stumble down and either we select to grieve over our fall or select to stand up, the world will continue spinning and time will continue moving. The world will not wait for us to recover.
